Publish With Us
Hekhal Publishing Co. is more than a press — it’s a partnership.
You have ideas worth sharing. You've spent years in the text, in the pulpit, in the classroom, in the study — and somewhere along the way, a book took shape. Maybe it's been sitting in sermon notes or a hard drive. Maybe it's fully drafted. Maybe it's still a vision. Wherever you are, Hekhal exists to help you take that next step.
We were built for writers who sit at the intersection of deep knowledge and real audiences — scholars who want to write for the public, pastors with a book in them, teachers whose best material deserves a wider reach. We bring the publishing infrastructure, editorial expertise, and distribution network. You bring the vision.
Just as our name evokes the “Hekhal,” the sacred temple where heaven and earth met, our publishing process is a meeting place for vision and realization — where your idea can take shape, find its voice, and reach readers around the world.
OUR COMMITMENT
You Work With People, Not a System
From your first conversation with us to the day your book ships, you work directly with editors and advisors who know your field and care about your project. No automated portals, no being handed off to a coordinator you've never met. Publishing a book is a significant undertaking — we think you deserve a real partner through the whole process.
No Author Fees
Hekhal is not a self-publishing service. We never ask authors to pay to publish. Like any reputable academic or trade press, we cover all production, editorial, and design costs — because we believe in your project enough to invest in it ourselves. You focus entirely on the work. We handle the rest.
A Review Process That Fits Your Project
Every Hekhal manuscript goes through a structured review process before publication — a minimum of two qualified readers, and more when the project calls for it. We match reviewers to projects: if you're writing a pastoral work, your readers will include experienced ministry voices who understand what you're doing and who you're writing for. If your project is more academic in nature, we bring in field specialists.
This isn't gatekeeping — it's quality assurance. Our goal is to make sure your book is as strong as it can be before it reaches readers, and that the feedback you receive actually helps rather than discourages.
Higher Royalties Than You'd Expect
Traditional publishers rely on expensive print runs, warehousing, and layered supply chains — costs that eat into what authors actually earn. Hekhal uses industry-leading print-on-demand and distribution systems to keep overhead low and author earnings high.
The result: books that stay affordable and globally available, while you earn a substantially higher royalty percentage than the industry standard — typically in the range of 30–50% of net proceeds depending on format and agreement. We're transparent about this from the start, because we think you should know exactly what you're earning and why.
Global Distribution
All Hekhal titles are distributed through the same catalogues and networks used by major academic and trade publishers. Your book will be available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, and Bookshop.org in print and digital formats, and orderable through Ingram's global library catalogue.
Whether your reader is in your own congregation or on another continent, your work is a search away.
From Manuscript to Published — In Months, Not Years
Traditional publishers routinely take 18–24 months from acceptance to release. We move faster than that — without cutting corners. Most Hekhal projects go from final manuscript to published book within three to six months. Because we handle editorial, design, and distribution in-house, we don't lose time to bureaucracy or backlog.
Author Coaching Included
Not everyone who has a book in them has navigated the publishing process before. That's not a problem — it's exactly who we work with. Every Hekhal author receives one-on-one coaching throughout the journey: help refining your proposal, clarifying your audience, strengthening your argument, and understanding every step of the process. We meet you where you are and help you get where you're going.
A Collaborative Partnership
We see publishing as a collaboration, not a transaction. You remain an active participant at every stage — from editorial feedback to cover design — so the finished book is genuinely yours. The best projects come from mutual trust, open dialogue, and shared conviction that the work matters. That's the kind of press we're building.
THE HEKHAL PUBLICATION PROCESS
1. Start a Conversation
You don't need a finished manuscript to reach out. Submit a short proposal or concept — or simply send us an email. We evaluate every submission for clarity, purpose, and fit with Hekhal's mission, and we respond to every inquiry. If your project is a potential fit, we'll invite you into a direct conversation about next steps.
2. Review and Editorial Feedback
Accepted projects enter our structured review process. We match each manuscript with readers who have relevant expertise — whether that's academic, pastoral, or both — and synthesize their feedback into clear, constructive guidance. Our editors then work directly with you to strengthen the manuscript while keeping your voice intact.
3. Production and Design
Once your manuscript is ready, we handle everything: interior formatting, cover design, ISBN and Library of Congress registration, and metadata entry for global distribution. You'll receive complete proofs to review and approve before anything goes to print. Nothing ships without your sign-off.
4. Publication and Distribution
Your book is published simultaneously in print and digital formats and distributed globally through Ingram's catalogue and major online retail platforms. Within days of publication, your work is available to readers, bookstores, and libraries worldwide.
5. Launch and Long-Term Visibility
We work with you on launch strategy — press materials, social media assets, and outreach content to help your book find its audience. Hekhal titles are featured on our website, in newsletters, and across our digital platforms. We're not just trying to get your book published — we're trying to get it read.
SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL
Ready to take the next step?
We welcome proposals from pastors, preachers, practitioners, scholars, and teachers — anyone with something worth saying and a readership that needs to hear it. If you're not sure whether your project is a fit, reach out anyway. We'd rather have a conversation than have you wonder.
We review all submissions and respond within two to three weeks.
WHY HEKHAL
Because your book deserves more than a drawer or a hard drive.
You've done the work. You know the material. You have something to say that people need to hear. What you need is a partner who takes that seriously — who will invest in your project, help you sharpen it, get it into the world, and make sure it earns what it's worth.
That's what Hekhal is for.
Join a growing community of scholars, pastors, writers, and thinkers who believe that serious ideas should reach real people — and that publishing should feel like a partnership, not a transaction.
Let’s build something sacred together.
